Rory has over 25 years experience in senior management of some of the leading blue chip media businesses in the UK, including The National Magazine Company, Associated Newspapers, Capital Radio, EMAP, and latterly as Sales Director of the Telegraph Media Group. Specialising in the trading of design, development and delivery of multi channel media solutions, Rory has achieved the highest standards of profitability and reputation.
Rory and his teams have been awarded many accolades by the industry, including Idea of The Year, Sales Team of the Year and Strategic Sales Pitch of the year in consecutive years by Media Week and Dynamic Sales Team of the Year, International Idea of the year and Sales Team of the year by Campaign.
Rory joined Dean James in 2008 and set up Music & Media Solutions (now MAMA Partnerships) as a central hub for brand activity at MAMA, immediately turning a £150k turnover into a £1.8m turnover in only 8 months. MAMA Partnership is now responsible for over 20% of MAMA’s annual profit. Rory then co-founded PAPA Projects (now MAMA Productions) as a sister company to MMS to work with brand and event strategy in production. MAMA productions now produces all of MAMA’s festivals and events and works with numerous premium brands including Coca-Cola, Sony, Selfridges, Diageo and Redbull.
Chief Operating Officer
Kirsty trained as a solicitor at leading City firm, Simmons & Simmons and upon qualification in 2005 joined the corporate department of Halliwells’ London office. Whilst at Halliwells Kirsty acted as lead assistant on a variety of transactions including mergers and acquisitions, MBOs and joint ventures though her experience was particularly focussed upon AIM listings and fundraisings, including both IPOs and secondary issues of up to $500m. Kirsty acted for a wide range of clients from across the UK, including MAMA, though her work was primarily international and she was the lead assistant for Halliwells’ Hong Kong and PRC based clients.
Kirsty joined MAMA in 2007 as General Counsel and Company Secretary and has been responsible for fulfilling all of MAMA’s legal and compliance requirements. Since 2007, Kirsty has overseen the Group’s restructuring and played a key role in negotiating and delivering MAMA’s venue and festival acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and key trading and sponsorship agreements.
Kirsty was appointed as Chief Operating Officer in 2012 following MAMA’s MBO.
Kirsty graduated from Oxford University with a degree in English Literature and Language and from The College of Law with distinctions in the PgDL and LPC.
Gary has over 25 years experience in the control and accounting of businesses. Having started work with Grand Metropolitan Retailing as a trainee Internal Auditor Gary work up through the audit team before moving to the Boddingtons Group to specialise in their Hotel division.
Gary switched from audit work to be Financial Controller of Village Leisure’s new and biggest hotel, golf and leisure club. Gary subsequently worked for a number of start-up businesses before joining Benjy’s Group Limited in 2000 as part of an MBO team. Gary joined MAMA group in 2006 and worked on the deals to acquire and integrate the Hammersmith Apollo and Mean Fiddler holdings, the subsequent sale to HMV Group and latterly the disposal of the Hammersmith Apollo and MBO for MAMA Group.
Gary was appointed as Finance Director in 2012 following MAMA’s MBO.
Gary is a CIMA qualified accountant enhanced by experience gained throughout his career.
Richard left school at 16 and had started his first business at 19.
He was the founder of The First Stop Group and EMS, both of which were sold to larger groups. EMS was sold to Mosaic group PLC, where he became the CEO and Chairman of its European Business.

He has won various awards including Marketing Agency of the year, Young Entrepreneur of the year, and IBM Dealer of the year. Richard was also a member of The Sunday Times Board of the future.
He sits on the boards of the ECB & NSPCC Sports & Entertainment committee, along with the membership committee of Soho House. He was a Princess Youth Business Trust mentor for many years.
Tim is responsible for originating transactions nationally for LDC and is particularly focused on equity investments of between £5million and £100million.
Tim joined LDC in 2005. He has spent over 20 years in private equity with 3i, Royal Bank of Scotland and Catalyst Fund Management. Prior to joining 3i Tim worked for IBM. In his previous role at LDC Tim was the Managing Director for the London Office completing a number of significant transactions including GVA Grimley and NAH.
Andrew graduated in Law from King’s College, London and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst and Whinney in London before joining Hill Samuel in 1986. He joined LDC in 1998 and has worked on many boards since, including Emprise, Fraser Williams Commercial Services, JCC, Wolff Olins, Dan, Big Hand, Pasporte, Ramesys.
